Traditionally, its been held the last week of July.

Ages

Tackle Bar Football - Grades 2nd & 3rd - $225

Tackle Football - Grades 4th thru 8th - $275


Please note - The first 3 games at the 4th grade level starts with the Tackle Bar system and transitions to tackle football.


When

Season Start Date:

Monday, August 3rd - all grade levels

SEASON END DATE:

October 3rd: Grades 2nd-4th

October 10th: Grades 5th-8th


Practice Times & Schedule

Practices will be 4 days per week in August (M-Thurs) through September 11th, except when a game is played.

  • Grades 2nd - 4th starts at 6pm-7:30pm
  • Grades 5th-8th starts at 6pm-8pm


Monday, August 31st - all grades will start practice at 6pm-7:30pm

Monday, September 14th - all grades will start at 5:30pm-7:00pm and NO Wed practices


SPECIAL NOTE: Game Schedule will be posted in the Crossbar calendar. Crossbar calendar can be synced onto your phone.


Games

Most teams will play 8 games, many of which will be held on Saturday's; each team should expect at least one or two week night games.

Away games will be played at surrounding community fields.


Equipment

The Association Provides:

  • Game jersey
  • Practice jersey
  • Shoulder pads
  • Helmet
  • Football pants
  • Knee pads


Extra Costs

Player is responsible to provide their own:

  • Mouth guard
  • Girdle
  • Cleats
  • Protective cup


NEW: A pre-written $300 equipment deposit check is no longer required at equipment pick-up.

Please note: If equipment is not returned at the end of the season, a $300 replacement fee will be charged to the payment method on file.

VOLUNTEERING

Four (4) hours per player of volunteer hours is required, a $150 buyout is available during registration process.


NEW: We are no longer collecting $200 prewritten checks for volunteer hours.

If volunteer hours are NOT fulfilled by the end of the season, a $200 fee will be charged to the payment method on file.

RAFFLE

In 2026 each family is required to purchase $100 worth of raffle tickets prior to equipment being handed out, tickets can be kept or sold. If any family does not wish to participate in the raffle they may opt out for a $100 fee payable at equipment handout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Team Selection

Each grade will practice together the first week. Coaches will meet that following weekend with FYFA Board members to form the teams. All teams play in the South Suburban Youth Football League, which requires balanced teams if there are more than one team at an age level. If for some reason your player cannot attend the first week of practice, please contact farmingtonyouthfb@gmail.com as soon as possible.

Farmington Youth Football Association will Feature

  • 2nd/3rd Grade will play Padded Flag using the Tackle Bar system to learn proper technique, USA Football Rookie League Rules, reduced player and field size. 
  •  4th Grade transitioning to play tackle football. The first three games of the season will use the Tackle Bar system and the remainder of the season will be tackle.  
  • 5th Grade transitioning to tackle football under USA Football Rookie League Rules with reduced players on the field.
  • Grade specific tackle football teams at 6th-8th Grade (no combined grade teams) with 11-players and regulation sized field.
  • All Coaches certified by USA Heads Up Football and Trusted Coaches (includes Concussion and Child Safety certificates) and Background checks.
  • FHS Base Formations, Plays & Cadences taught in a progressive learning environment.
  • FHS Coaches and FHS Athletes volunteering as available to support the youth program.
